David and Debbie receive the keys for the new premises which will become the home of Downland from late January, it has been a long wait but it was worth it.
Work starts shortly and will provide an up to date butchery and preparation room with a big chiller room as well as offices and a staff room. When completed we will have capacity to produce more of our award winning products and continue our quest to bring free range, naturally reared pork to meet the needs of our discerning customers.
The new building is just outside Melksham in Wiltshire, about four miles from Lackham where the pigs live, and has easy access to major roads.
It will be much better than the old unit, which although functional, was difficult to access in bad weather and the building could not be modernised.
